SINGAPORE: Two individuals, Rebecca Rubini Ravinthiran and Vee Derrick Mahendran, were charged for illegal public assemblies involving foreign workers in October 2022. Ravinthiran is accused of directing 15 workers to gather without a permit to demand outstanding payments from her company, facing 17 charges in total, while Mahendran faces 11 charges for assisting her. Both cases are set to return to court on June 24, with potential fines and imprisonment for violations under the Public Order Act and the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act.
