Dayton Loses to Rhode Island in Overtime

The University of Dayton men’s basketball team suffered its third consecutive loss, falling 81-76 in overtime to Rhode Island at the UD Arena, committing 23 turnovers that resulted in 22 points for URI. Bryce Heard led the Flyers with 15 points, while De’Shayne Montgomery, Amael L’Etang, and Javon Bennett contributed 14, 13, and 11 points, respectively. Despite leading by 15 points in the first half, Dayton could not secure the win, with URI’s Jahmere Tripp scoring 24 points to lead his team. The Flyers now hold a record of 14-7 overall and 5-3 in the Atlantic 10, with their next game against nationally ranked Saint Louis on January 30.
