In Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on March 4, Turkmenistan Railways has announced new benefits for transit routes through the Turkmenbashi International Seaport this year, as reported by Trend.

The Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan stated that Turkmenistan Railways is offering a 40 percent discount on the transportation of sugar raw materials and oilcake through the Turkmenbashi port to the Farap/Takhiatash border checkpoint on the Turkmen-Uzbek border.

For private and rented wagons, as well as wagons of the inventory fleet carrying other products (excluding aluminum, alumina, and petroleum products in barrels) through the Turkmenbashi port to the Farap/Takhiatash border checkpoint, discounts of 30 percent and 20 percent will be provided respectively.

Additionally, Turkmenistan Railways will give a 40 percent discount on transit routes through Turkmenbashi Port 1 (Imamnazar) and Turkmenbashi Port 1 (Crossing 161) in both directions.

Moreover, a special 50 percent discount will be offered by Turkmenistan for loading and unloading operations at the Turkmenbashi port on all routes (Port of Turkmenbashi 1 – Imamnazar and Port of Turkmenbashi 1 – Round Trip 161), regardless of wagon ownership.
