Turkey strikes Kurdish militants after deadly attack on defence firm

Turkey launched strikes on Kurdish militants in Iraq and Syria in response to an attack by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) that killed five people at a defence firm near Ankara. The government blamed the PKK for the attack and conducted air operations destroying 32 targets in Iraq and Syria. The incident drew condemnation from world leaders and came at a time when Turkey was exploring political solutions to the conflict with Kurdish militants.
