Turkey has closed all livestock markets to control the spread of a highly contagious foot-and-mouth disease detected after the Eid al-Adha holiday, which traditionally sees large livestock movements. The Agriculture Ministry assured that food security would remain unaffected as the country implements vaccinations, planning to lift restrictions once all livestock is vaccinated.
