Will Lewis Steps Down as CEO of The Washington Post
Will Lewis is resigning as CEO of The Washington Post following a tumultuous period and recent mass layoffs. Jeff D’Onofrio, the paper’s CFO since June 2022 and former CEO of Tumblr, will take over as acting CEO and publisher. D’Onofrio has limited experience in traditional news media, having faced challenges during his tenure at Tumblr, including a significant decline in traffic. His new leadership comes amid ongoing changes implemented by owner Jeff Bezos.
