Tube ‘fare dodger’ caught swerving £3,500 in fares using a dodgy card

A man was caught fare evading on the Tube, accruing over £3,500 in unpaid tickets by using a faulty card given to him by a friend for over a year. Transport for London (TfL) investigators tracked him down using CCTV at Surrey Quays station, and during an interview, he eventually admitted to not paying for his journeys after being confronted with evidence. TfL is now reviewing the case for potential prosecution, while the shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick also engaged in fare evasion checks at Stratford Tube station.
