Trump considering executive order for voter IDs before elections.

President Donald Trump has hinted at a new executive order requiring voter identification before ballots are distributed, frustrated by lack of progress in Congress. He claims legal reasons for the move, following the House passing a bill on citizenship documents for voter registration. Trump’s focus on voter ID laws comes ahead of the midterm elections, as he fears a Democratic majority could lead to a potential third impeachment. Voter ID laws have support from both major parties, but face opposition from voting rights advocates and Democratic leadership.
