President Donald Trump disclosed that he takes a higher daily dose of aspirin (325mg) than recommended for cardiac prevention, claiming he prefers “thin blood.” His physician noted this dosage can cause bruising, which has raised health concerns, especially after Trump was diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency. The typical recommended dosage for cardiovascular risk is much lower (81mg). Aspirin, while effective for blood thinning, can have side effects, including gastrointestinal issues and bleeding.
