Trump pardons five former NFL players for crimes

President Trump pardoned five former NFL players, including Joe Klecko, Nate Newton, Jamal Lewis, Travis Henry, and the late Billy Cannon, for crimes such as perjury and drug trafficking. The pardons were announced by White House pardon czar Alice Marie Johnson, who praised the significance of second chances. Klecko, Newton, and Lewis faced serious charges related to drug offenses, while Cannon had previously admitted to counterfeiting. Johnson noted that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones shared the news with Newton personally.
