The Defense Department has classified Anthropic as a “supply-chain risk to national security,” effectively banning the company from providing AI services to the U.S. military. This designation, confirmed by CEO Dario Amodei, follows tense negotiations regarding the military’s use of Anthropic’s Claude AI systems.
