Summary
President Donald Trump has ordered an investigation into ActBlue, the Democratic Party’s main fundraising platform, alleging it may facilitate illegal campaign donations, a move condemned by Democrats as an abuse of power. The executive order directs Attorney General Pam Bondi to collaborate with the Treasury Department, with findings expected within 180 days, and ActBlue plans to defend itself legally. Critics, including Democratic leaders, argue that the investigation undermines democratic participation and aims to suppress grassroots donations while benefiting wealthy donors.
