Washington, DC – President Trump has initiated a process to label branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Lebanon, and Jordan as “terrorist” organizations due to their alleged support for Hamas. The White House accuses these groups of providing material support to Hamas and inciting violence against U.S. interests during conflicts in Gaza. Critics argue this move may further suppress political expression in the Middle East and impact American Muslim advocacy groups. The formal designation process is expected to conclude within 45 days, potentially leading to economic sanctions and travel bans for members.
