Trump ordered to pay E Jean Carroll $5.8 million after appeal loss

A federal judge has ruled that writer E Jean Carroll can collect over $5.8 million from Donald Trump, following a jury’s finding that he sexually abused and defamed her. The decision comes after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear Trump’s appeal. Carroll’s attorney stated that it is time for Trump to fulfill the court order, while Trump has continued to label the case a “hoax” and is appealing both the $5 million and an additional $83.3 million judgment related to earlier defamatory statements.
