Trump Proposes Termination of Broadcast Licenses for Negative Coverage
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

President Trump suggested that broadcast licenses should be revoked for networks whose news and late-night shows portray him and the GOP negatively. In a post on Truth Social, he criticized Stephen Colbert and expressed disdain for late-night hosts, accusing them of lacking talent and having low ratings. Trump previously mentioned this idea in September, asserting that the decision to revoke licenses should be made by FCC Chairman Brendan Carr. The FCC emphasizes that broadcasters are responsible for their content and cannot be censored by the government.
