Trump announces billions in Gaza aid at Board of Peace meeting

During the first meeting of his Board of Peace, Donald Trump announced that nine member nations have pledged $7bn to a Gaza reconstruction fund, with five countries agreeing to deploy troops to an international stabilisation force for the Palestinian territory. The United States president also stated that the US will contribute $10bn to the Board of Peace. The funds pledged represent a fraction of the estimated $70bn needed to rebuild Gaza after years of conflict. Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania have pledged troops for the stabilisation force, while Egypt and Jordan have committed to training police officers.
