The Department of Veterans Affairs has reported that the backlog of VA disability compensation and pension claims is now consistently below 100,000 for the first time since May 2020. This marks a 63% reduction in the backlog since President Donald Trump returned to office in January 2025, following a rise of 24% during the Biden administration. The VA has improved claims processing efficiency, with only 17% of claims now exceeding the 125-day backlog threshold, compared to 70% in 2013.
