Triple increase in the fee that Turkish citizens pay when going abroad

The fee for traveling abroad for Turkish citizens has been increased from 150 to 500 Turkish lira, equivalent to about 14 euros, as per an Ordinance published in the Turkish State Gazette on August 2, 2024. This fee applies to all Turkish citizens over the age of 7 when traveling abroad, impacting their wallets in light of the country’s 71.6 percent inflation rate in June 2024. Compared to previous years, the increase in the travel fee further burdens Turkish citizens financially.
