More than a dozen transgender members of the U.S. Air Force and Space Force are suing the Trump administration for being forced to separate from active duty without retirement benefits. The lawsuit, filed by GLAD Law and the National Center for LGBTQ Rights, involves 17 plaintiffs with 15 to 18 years of service, including lead plaintiff Master Sergeant Logan Ireland. The plaintiffs argue that the administration’s actions stripped them of health insurance and pension benefits following the enforcement of a transgender military ban. Ireland, who has been on administrative leave, vows to fight for the benefits he believes he deserves, viewing the legal battle as his new battleground.
