The tragic racing driver who haunts the tracks
Percy Lambert, born in 1881, was a renowned British racing driver who made history by becoming the first person to drive 100 miles in one hour in 1913. Despite his fame, his record was quickly surpassed, driving him to attempt a dangerous reclaim of his title. Tragically, during this attempt on October 31, 1913, a tire burst caused an accident that claimed his life. Today, his spirit is said to haunt Brooklands, with reports of eerie occurrences and unexplained scents at the site.
