Toys ‘R’ Us celebrated the opening of its first standalone store in Chicago with a grand event at Harlem Irving Plaza in Norridge, featuring face painting, balloon twisting, and more. The 10,000 square-foot store offers a modern retail concept with popular toy brands like LEGO, Barbie, and Nerf, aiming to open up to 24 flagship stores nationwide. This follows the chain’s bankruptcy in 2018, with plans to expand into Macy’s pop-ups and Babies “R” Us stores inside Kohl’s Department stores.
