Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was stretchered off in the 14th minute of the Carabao Cup semifinal against Liverpool after a head injury, with medical staff attending to him on the field. Spurs later confirmed that Bentancur is conscious and talking and will undergo further checks at the hospital. Despite the injury, Spurs won 1-0 with a late goal from Lucas Bergvall in the first-leg match.
