Tokyo plans to construct the world’s largest fountain in Odaiba Marine Park district to attract more tourists, despite residents expressing concerns about the hefty price tag of 2.64 billion yen. The fountain will shoot water 150 metres into the air and feature a 250-metre splash pool, making it technically the largest in the world. Work is set to begin in 2025 and is expected to draw 30 million visitors annually, generating an economic impact of around US$64 million each year.
