Titans make trades in 2025 for multiple potential starters

The Tennessee Titans experienced a challenging 2025 season that prompted significant organizational changes. General Manager Mike Borgonzi executed trades involving players Jarvis Brownlee, Dre’Mont Jones, and Roger McCreary, acquiring three draft picks: No. 142, No. 144, and No. 196. The Titans used pick No. 142, received from the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for Jones, to select Arkansas guard Fernando Carmona, who offers versatility on the offensive line. Pick No. 144, acquired from the Los Angeles Rams for McCreary, was later utilized to move up in the draft to select linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. at No. 60 overall, who is expected to make an immediate impact in the Titans’ defense. Lastly, the Titans traded Brownlee to the New York Jets for a 2026 sixth-round pick, which they used to draft potential starting center Pat Coogan from Indiana.

Why It Matters

The trades made by the Titans reflect a strategic effort to rebuild the team following a poor season, emphasizing the importance of acquiring draft capital to bring in new talent. Historically, teams that successfully integrate young players through the draft often see improved performance in subsequent seasons, as fresh talent can rejuvenate a roster. The selections made from these trades indicate the Titans’ focus on strengthening both their offensive and defensive lines, critical areas for success in the NFL. With the right development, these new players may significantly influence the team’s trajectory in the coming years.
