Tinder is piloting an AI-driven feature called “Chemistry” that assesses users’ interests and personalities by examining their camera roll, aiming to reduce “swipe fatigue” by offering more suitable matches. This feature, which requires user consent to access photos and includes interactive questions, is part of Tinder’s product strategy for 2026 and is currently available in New Zealand and Australia, with plans for broader rollout. Despite its opt-in nature, the feature raises privacy concerns about allowing an app’s AI access to personal photos. Match Group, Tinder’s parent company, hopes to retain users amid a decline in paying subscribers over the past two years.
