TikTok has launched the PineDrama app, which features serialized micro dramas that last about a minute each, mimicking the format of TikTok itself. These bite-sized shows, like The Officer Fell For Me and Married to my past life’s nemesis, aim to keep users engaged with cliffhangers and a Discover tab for navigation. Currently, all content is free and ad-free, though future monetization remains unclear. This initiative follows TikTok’s earlier introduction of a micro drama section called Minis, and echoes the short-form content trend seen with the failed Quibi platform.
