Six militants and three police officers were killed during a shoot-out in Turkey’s Yalova province after police raided a house where the militants were hiding. At least eight officers and a night guard were wounded in the confrontation, part of a larger operation involving over 100 raids against suspected Islamic State militants across 15 provinces. Turkish President Erdogan condemned the violence and vowed to continue the fight against extremist groups. An investigation into the incident has been launched by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office.
