Key Questions Following Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s Arrest

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duke of York, has been arrested on his birthday, suspected of sharing confidential information with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during his tenure as a trade envoy. Thames Valley Police conducted the arrest at the Sandringham Estate, and the charge involves misconduct in public office, which could result in a life sentence. King Charles commented that “the law must take its course,” while other royal family members continue with their official duties. The police can hold Mountbatten-Windsor for up to 24 hours without charging him, with the Crown Prosecution Service determining if charges will be filed.
