Bananas wash ashore in English Channel, disrupting cruise ships

Shipping disruptions occurred in the Solent after 16 containers of fruit, including bananas and avocados, fell from the cargo ship Baltic Klipper. The incident, which took place near Nab Tower lighthouse, led to delays for approximately 5,000 P&O Cruise passengers departing from Southampton. Authorities, including the Maritime Coastguard Agency, have cordoned off areas where some containers washed ashore. The vessel’s owners are working with the MCA to recover the lost containers.
