They patrol L.A.’s streets in search of ICE, Trump immigration raids

Azusena Favela and Adalberto Ríos were driving in South Los Angeles, looking out for Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. They noticed a white truck with flashing lights and alerted their team via radio. Unión del Barrio, an organization advocating for immigrant rights, leads patrols to spot ICE agents and inform residents of their rights. The patrols also aim to dispel misinformation and protect the community. Recent operations disrupted by the organization include detaining a man on his way to work and following ICE agents to an apartment complex. Despite rumors of large-scale immigration enforcement actions, only a few people were processed for detention. ICE did not comment on the situation. The organization continues to monitor and protect the community from potential ICE operations.
