How does this make you feel?

If you are searching for a unique way to spend time enjoying the outdoors, glamping (glamorous camping) is definitely worth considering.

It merges the luxury of glamour with the solitude and beauty of camping. After all, who wouldn’t want to enjoy a traditional camping experience with the comforts of home?

If you are planning on glamping for the very first time, here are some helpful things to consider.

Research different types of glamping accommodation

There are different types of glamping experiences. You can choose from luxury tents, a luxury treehouse, yurts, camper vans or even eco pods.

Do your research on all the different types of glamping accommodation and pick one that is perfect for the type of experience you desire.

Consider costs

Like most travel experiences, there are costs involved in glamping. However, it does not necessarily have to cost you an arm and a leg.

It is possible to experience both luxury and nature at a reasonable price. When researching glamping accommodation, factor in the costs as well. If possible, ensure that you book your glamping experience in advance and that it is not in peak season.

Pack everything you will need

On your glamping experience, there are quite a number of things that you will need. Make a list of these to ensure that you do not forget anything. Some items you will need include entertainment (especially if you are glamping with children). This can be in the form of books and games.Remember to also bring weather-appropriate clothing and extra blankets. Do not forget other essentials including your toiletries, chargers, bug-repellent and headlamps. Bring plenty of snacks too.

Look into different activities

A glamping experience comes with interesting activities for young and old. You can explore your chosen glamping location and it’s surrounds, go hiking or simply bond around the campfire. Children can engage in some cloud spotting, scrapbooking, trail finding or a simple game of hide and seek.
