Qur’an from Mamdani swearing-in to be displayed at New York library

Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced that the Qur’an he used for his swearing-in as New York City’s first Muslim mayor will be displayed at the New York Public Library. This 18th-century Qur’an, belonging to Black scholar Arturo Schomburg, symbolizes inclusion and civic-mindedness. The library will showcase it starting January 6 in the McGraw Rotunda, emphasizing its accessibility and significance to the community.
