The Boys animated spinoff was always intended as a one-time series

The animated anthology series The Boys Presents: Diabolical, initially thought to be canceled, was designed as a one-off project, according to showrunner Simon Racioppa. Created to provide fans with content during production delays caused by the pandemic, it fulfilled its intended purpose and is not currently slated for a second season. Meanwhile, the franchise continues to expand with the upcoming fifth season of The Boys, a prequel titled Vought Rising, and an international spinoff, The Boys: Mexico.
