Thai police detain 2 suspects after bomb in border province killed 3, injured scores

Thai police have two suspects in custody following a bombing in Umphang town in Tak province that killed three people and injured 48 during an outdoor festival. The explosive device was a homemade bomb thrown into a crowd just before midnight, with no charges pressed yet as the investigation continues. Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has ordered security personnel to investigate and assist those affected, with local police citing a fight between rival groups as the cause of the explosion.
