Thailand’s parliament has elected Anutin Charnvirakul, leader of the opposition Bhumjaithai party, as prime minister, succeeding Paetongtarn Shinawatra, who was ousted over an ethics scandal. Anutin received over 247 votes with support from the People’s Party, promising a general election within four months, marking a significant shift in Thai politics against the Shinawatra dynasty.
