Person killed by falling tree while chopping it down

A person has died after being struck by a tree while chopping it down on a farm in the Waikato region. The incident occurred around 1:40 PM at a rural property in Kopaki. Initial investigations indicate that the individual was hit by the falling tree during the cutting process.
