Texas megachurch founder indicted over lewd acts with a child – NBC Chicago

Robert Morris, founder of Gateway Church in Texas, was indicted on five counts of lewd acts with a child dating back to the 1980s, with the abuse starting when the victim was 12. Morris admitted to inappropriate behavior and resigned as pastor last year, with the church elders unaware of the extent of the abuse. The Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office is pursuing justice for the victim, with the charges carrying a potential 20-year prison sentence.
