Tesco has urgently recalled 150g packs of Le Superbe Raclette cheese due to potential contamination with listeria monocytogenes, a bacterium that can cause severe food poisoning, especially in vulnerable groups such as pregnant women and the elderly. The Food Standards Agency warns that listeriosis symptoms can mimic flu, including fever, muscle pain, and diarrhoea, but can lead to serious complications like meningitis in rare cases. Customers who purchased the affected product with a best before date of May 12, 2025, are advised to return it to Tesco for a full refund without needing a receipt.
