A common marmoset, affectionately nicknamed Oyster, was discovered abandoned in a laundry bag on a London bus on July 17. The female monkey was found in a cage with only an apple for sustenance by a passenger who struggled to maneuver her pram past the bag. The bus driver took Oyster to a Metroline depot, where she was kept in a calm environment until the RSPCA arrived. After a health check, it was confirmed that she was not microchipped, and the RSPCA is currently investigating to find her previous owner. Fortunately, the rescue organization was in contact with a primate sanctuary that needed a female marmoset for companionship, making it likely that Oyster will soon find a new home.
