Temperatures set to drop again overnight and could hit minus 15C

Overnight temperatures are expected to drop to minus 15C in rural spots in Scotland, significantly below the average for this time of year. The UK experienced a cold spell with temperatures hitting as low as minus 18.9C in Altnaharra, the coldest January night in 15 years. The Met Office warns of freezing fog in the east and extended cold weather health alerts in England until Tuesday, with temperatures set to rise slightly on Sunday.
