The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident at Angola High School involving two students who unknowingly ingested THC gummies left in the classroom by teacher Debra McGillem. After the incident was reported on November 14, 2025, deputies found additional suspected THC gummies in McGillem’s possession. She has been charged with neglect of a dependent, possession of a controlled substance on school property, and operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and is held on a $6,500 bond. The school district is conducting an internal investigation and has stated that appropriate disciplinary actions will follow.
