Teacher in York Region accused of sexually assaulting teen student

A teacher with the York Catholic District School Board has been charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a teenage student, with York Regional Police not disclosing the school to protect the victim’s identity. The investigation was initiated on June 5, 2024, after the student reported the assault. The accused teacher had been working in education for 22 years, including five years with the York Catholic District, according to police.
