In preparation for hosting the 2034 World Cup, Saudi Arabia will first host the Asian Cup in 2027, with tournament dates set for January 7 to February 5 in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al Khobar. The 24-team competition will take place in eight stadiums, including the King Fahd Sports City Stadium and King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh, and the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah. The announcement of dates and venues marks a significant step in Saudi Arabia’s preparations for the tournament, with Yasser al-Misehal, president of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, emphasizing the strategic importance of the milestone.
