Tanzania opens longest bridge in East Africa

Tanzania has completed the construction of East Africa’s longest bridge, the Magufuli Bridge, spanning Lake Victoria in the Mwanza region. Named after late President John Magafuli, the 3.2 km structure connects the Misungwi and Sengerema districts, enhancing regional connectivity in East Africa. Built by Chinese firms and fully funded by the Tanzanian government, the bridge serves as a vital transport link between Tanzania and its neighbouring countries.
