Syria gives Kurds new rights, recognizes Kurdish language.

Syria’s President Ahmed al-Sharaa issued a decree recognizing Kurdish as a national language and restoring citizenship to Kurdish Syrians after clashes in Aleppo. The decree grants rights to Kurdish Syrians, designates Kurdish as a national language, and declares Newroz a national holiday. The Syrian army took control of Deir Hafer in Aleppo, while the SDF announced their withdrawal, following talks to integrate Kurdish groups into Syrian state institutions.
