Sydney-Hobart couple advocates for environmental causes

While others celebrate post-Sydney to Hobart, Annika and Ian Thomson continue their mission with Ocean Crusaders, having recently cleared their millionth ton of rubbish from Australian waterways. They manage to remove about 150 tons annually, focusing on areas like Chipping Norton Lake, where they found wildlife living among the debris. Their yacht, Ocean Crusaders J-Bird, is uniquely powered by solar and hybrid systems, and Annika aims for her fourth consecutive Jane Tate Memorial Trophy. After the race, they plan to continue their clean-up efforts along the Gold Coast.
