Canada’s Summer McIntosh set a new U.S. Open record in the women’s 400-metre freestyle at the Toyota U.S. Open Championships, finishing in 3:55.37. She won by over 15 seconds, with American Anna Peplowski second at 4:10.55 and Emma Weyant third at 4:11.25. McIntosh’s time is just over a second shy of her world record of 3:54.18, set last June. The competition continues through Saturday.
