Sudan’s displaced have endured ‘unimaginable suffering, brutal atrocities’

Nineteen months of conflict in Sudan have led to over three million people fleeing the country, with many seeking refuge in Chad. UNHCR expressed deep concern over the unimaginable suffering and atrocities faced by refugees, with 71% reporting human rights violations while fleeing. Despite generous support from Chad, funding for the $1.5 billion Refugee Response Plan remains at only 29%.
