Sudan PM vows to rebuild Khartoum on first visit to war-torn capital

Sudan’s Prime Minister Kamil Idris

pledged to rebuild Khartoum, ravaged by over two years of war, during his first visit since taking office in May. He outlined ambitious repair projects amidst the ongoing conflict, with reconstruction costs estimated at $700 billion, as the war has caused severe humanitarian crises, displacing millions and creating widespread food insecurity.
