Carla Lalli Music, a popular cookbook author and food content creator, has decided to quit YouTube after achieving success with nearly 200 videos and millions of views. She is shifting her focus to Substack, a subscription platform where she earned close to $200,000 in revenue in one year, surpassing her earnings on YouTube since 2021. Substack, which recently raised $100 million at a valuation of over $650 million, is expanding its offerings to include video content in response to the uncertain future of TikTok in the U.S., aiming to attract creators like Music away from platforms with algorithmic control.
